Bone anchored hearing aid implants
Bone Anchored Hearing Systems (BAHS) help people with certain types of hearing loss by transmitting sound through the skull bone directly to the inner ear.

The procedure:
-
Done under local or general anaesthetic
-
A small titanium implant is placed into the skull bone behind the ear
-
After healing (usually a few weeks), an external sound processor is attached to the implant
-
The processor picks up sound vibrations and sends them through the bone to the inner ear, bypassing the outer and middle ear
The surgery usually takes about 1 hour and is often done as a day procedure. It offers a reliable hearing solution for people with conductive hearing loss, single-sided deafness, or mixed
hearing loss.
