Ear wax

Ear wax (cerumen) is a natural substance that protects and cleans the ear canal. It usually moves out on its own, but sometimes it can build up and cause hearing loss, discomfort, or ringing in the ear.

ENT treatment options:

  • Microsuction – a safe, gentle method using suction

  • Manual removal – using fine instruments under direct vision

  • Irrigation – flushing the ear with warm water (not suitable for everyone)

Avoid using cotton buds, as they often push wax deeper. If you have symptoms, an ENT specialist can remove the wax safely and effectively.
