Sinusitis

Sinusitis is inflammation or infection of the sinuses—the air-filled spaces around the nose. It causes symptoms like nasal congestion, facial pain or pressure, headache, and thick nasal discharge.

How is Sinusitis treated by an ENT?

• Nasal decongestants and saline sprays to relieve congestion are prescribed

• Nasal corticosteroid sprays to reduce inflammation

• Antibiotics if a bacterial infection is suspected

• Surgery (like functional endoscopic sinus surgery) in chronic or severe cases can clear blocked sinuses
