Snoring
Snoring is the noisy vibration of soft tissues in the throat during sleep, caused by partial blockage of the airway. It can affect sleep quality and, in some cases, be a sign of obstructive sleep apnea.
How Does an ENT treat snoring?
-
Lifestyle changes: weight loss, avoiding alcohol before bed, sleeping on your side
-
Nasal treatments: sprays or surgery to improve nasal airflow
-
Oral devices: mouthguards to keep the airway open
-
Surgery: to remove or reduce excess tissue in the throat (e.g., uvulopalatoplasty)
