Tonsillitis
Tonsillitis is inflammation of the tonsils, usually caused by a viral or bacterial infection. It results in a sore throat, difficulty swallowing, fever, and swollen, red tonsils.
How does an ENT treat Tonsillitis?​

Antibiotics: prescribed if a bacterial infection (like streptococcus) is confirmed

Tonsillectomy: surgical removal of the tonsils may be recommended for frequent or severe infections
